The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested six accused persons involved in embezzlement of millions in Haala-Mian Channu dual road extension project of the NHA.
The arrested accused include Land Accusation Collector (LAC), accused Waseem Ahmed, accused Patwari Khursheed Ahmed, Qanoongo Muhammad Amin, accused Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Sufiyan and accused Muhammad Aasim.
As per the case details, the NHA approved a dual road project from Haala to Mian Channu in 2008, whereas, the accused individuals malafidely sold 23 Kanal of agriculture and residential land in alleged connivance with each other by showing above land as Commercial Land. By this mischievous and playful act, the accused individuals caused a loss worth Rs 150 Million (approx) to National exchequer.
Earlier in 2018, during the ongoing Inquiry proceedings, the Investigators had arrested former Director NHA, accused Shaukat Hussain along with other five co-accused individuals whereby, subsequently, an Interim Reference had been filed in Accountability Court, Lahore during 2019.
The NAB Lahore officials would produce all six arrested accused persons before an Accountability Court Lahore, tomorrow, for obtaining of their Physical Remand to conclude the Investigations as earlier as possible.
