Information Technology and Telecommunication Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui will inaugurate the 19th Information Technology Commerce Network (ITCN) Asia. This conference will take place at the Karachi Expo Centre from September 17 to 18.
The exhibition will be spread out over six halls, with over 550 local and 250 international companies from more than 23 countries expected to set up their stalls. Over 55,000 visitors are expected to visit ITCN Asia over its 3 days run. Concurrently, there will be a major conference on each day, namely the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit, Information Technology (IT) minister’s Forum for Youth, Innovation, Industry and Ease of Doing Business and Cyber Security Conference. Additionally, there will be several breakout sessions and opportunities for business-to-business (B2B) meetings to be set up by industry players during the three days.
‘There is substantial potential for Pakistan to exponentially develop the IT sector and even make it the biggest foreign exchange earner for Pakistan in the coming years, besides creating employment for a million or more people, even within the next three years. Since the last 70 years, the strategy of Pakistan’s IT sector has been vertical pillar growth, working with a 100 companies. However, the global model is the ‘Horizontal Pyramid Growth Strategy’; which creates 80 percent of the base with domestic commerce.
