Two civilians were injured as Indian troops resorted to firing in Baghsar sector of the Line of Control (LoC), according to a situation update issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday. Azmat Bibi, 55, and Baba Jan, 75, of Mera village were injured in the incident. The ISPR said aside from deliberately targeting the civilians, India continued with false claims alleging that Pakistan Army had targeted civilians across the LoC in Indian-held Kashmir (IHK). “Pakistan Army has many a time expressed its principled ethical stance of never targeting civilian population being a highly professional force, let alone already suppressed Kashmiri brethren across LoC in IHK,” the ISPR statement read. The military’s media wing said that the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) by the Indian army would ‘never go unnoticed’. “Pakistan Army will defend the citizens at all cost through effective and targeted response,” it said, and added that Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy continue to maintain a ‘state of vigilance and alertness’ in the air and maritime domains.
