Five of a family including a couple and three children died of suffocation due to leakage of gas here on Sunday. Rescue sources said that family hailing from Qalandarabad area of Abbottabad slept on Saturday turning on the gas heater to save them of cold weather. In the mid of night, flame of the heater went off due to suspension of gas and later the gas was restored. Five including husband, wife and their three children aged between five to eight years died of suffocation due to accumulation of gas.
The neighbours noticing the family absence checked the house and found them all dead.
The bodies were shifted to hospital where the post-mortem confirmed that the deaths occurred due to suffocation. The bodies were handed over to heirs for burial. Grief and sorrow prevailed upon the area due to sudden tragic death of family.
