GUJRANWALA: The Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Tuesday announced names of position holders in intermediate examination-2018.
The Punjab College’s (Sialkot) student Maliha Maryam clinched first position by securing 1,051 marks, the Punjab College’s (Gujranwala) student Manahil Naeem and the Kips College’s student Muhammad Habib shared second place with 1,046 marks while the Punjab College’s (Gujranwala) students Kanwar Nadeem Ahmed and Mahrukh grabbed third position with 1,041 marks.
In pre-medical group (boys), Muhammad Habib clinched first place with 1,046 marks, Kanwar Nadeem Ahmed got second with 1,041 while Ibrar Ahmed and Inza Muhammad shared third place with 1,039 marks.
In pre-medical group (girls), Maliha clinched top position with 1,051 marks, Manahal Naeem and Darkhashan Sehar shared second place by securing 1,046 marks and Mahrukh stood third with 1,041 marks.
In pre-engineering group (boys), Zain and Hamza Abbas shared first place with 1,039 marks, Muhammad Athar Sajid and Muhammad Haider Khan captured second position with 1,037 marks while Hamza stood third by securing 1,022 marks.
In pre-engineering group (girls), Hamna clinched top position with 1,040 marks, Roma Ansar stood second by securing 1,038 marks and Javeria grabbed third place with 1,037 marks.
In humanities group (boys), Muhammad Owais got first with 970 marks, Akash Ahmed captured second place with 934 marks and Muhammad Saqlain received third position with 910 marks.
In humanities group (girls), Rimsha grabbed first position with 1,006 marks, Hira Fatima stood second with 983 marks and Yamina captured third place by securing 963 marks.
In general science group (boys), Muhammad Qasim received first place with 1,035 marks, Muhammad Umair stood second by securing 991 marks and Ahmed Raza got third position with 987 marks.
In general science group (girls), Umama Naeem captured first position by securing 1,027 marks, Eisha Nadeem got second with 1,021 marks and Iqra Perven grabbed third position by securing 1,017marks.
In commerce group (boys), Abu Huraira secured first place with 1,000 marks, Malik Zohaib got second by securing 983 marks and Usama Sajid took third position with 972 marks.
In commerce group (girls), Brira Chanda stood first with 1,009 marks, Insha Shahzadi grabbed second place by securing 994 marks and Mubashira and Khadija shared third position by securing 992 marks.
Anti-Corruption Dept arrests land mafia member
The Anti-Corruption Establishment’s (ACE) branch in Gujranwala on Tuesday arrested a land mafia member and registered cases against two police officers for their alleged involvement in fraud and corruption cases.
ACE Regional Director Fareed Ahmed told the media that a citizen Abdul Jabbar filed an application with ACE accusing Shoukat Ali of selling him a property by forging its ownership documents including PT-1 of excise and taxation department.
Later, Jabbar was informed that Shoukat Ali was not the real owner of the property.
In another application, a citizen Naeem Safdar accused Station House Officer (SHO) Irfan Haider and Sub Inspector Asim Shahzad of the Ali Pur Chatha police station of lodging a bogus case against him, and subsequently demanding Rs 100,000 bribe for his release.
Initial investigations suggested sufficient evidence against the suspects, and consequently ACE team arrested Shoukat Ali and registered cases against officers Irfan and Asim Shahzad.
FIA arrests six human traffickers
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested six human traffickers during raids on their suspected hideouts in Gujranwala and Sialkot.
Deputy Director Mufakhir Adeel told the media that FIA teams detained Khalil Ur Rehman, Fareed, Tariq, Sajjad, Kashif and Adeel for transporting people abroad illegally.
Man dies, two people injured in fatal road accident
A man died and two other people sustained critical injuries in Ladhewala Warriach area of Gujranwala.
Reportedly, Abu Huraira, Rehan and Shaan Ali were travelling on a motorcycle-Rickshaw when a speeding bus rammed into them near Ladhewala.
Resultantly, Shaan Ali died on the spot, whereas Abu Huraira and Rehan received injuries.
They were rushed to the DHQ Hospital for medical attention.
