LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has on Sunday announced the 16-man squad for the tour of England and Ireland next month.
Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the squad during a press conference. The 16-member squad includes captain Sarfaraz Ahmed with Azhar Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq as the opening batsmen.
Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam, Saad Ali and Usman Salahuddin will offer the services of middle-order batsmen, while Shadab Khan, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Abbas, Saad Ali, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Rahat Ali have also made the squad.
Fawad Alam, who was deemed the fittest cricketer during the 5-day fitness-camp at Gaddafi Stadium, has failed to find his place in the team, while Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Hafeez have also not been selected. Yasir Shah also misses out due to injury.
The 16-member squad will commence training sessions at Gaddafi on April 23, while they will face Ireland in the first Test Match of the tour on May 11.
