WASHINGTON: The United States (US) has on Monday sanctioned seven Pakistani firms for allegedly working against the national interest by engaging in ‘nuclear trade’.
Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) sanctioned 23 foreign firms, including seven Pakistani companies, over their alleged involvement in anti-US activities and for working against foreign policy interests of the country.
The move to sanction 7 Pak-firms has once again put the country’s membership in Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) at stake, according to reports.
The sanctioned companies include Singapore-based Mushko Logistics, Pakistan-based Mushko Electronics, Akhtar & Munir, Proficient Engineers, Pervaiz Commercial Trading Co. (PCTC), Marine Systems and Engineering and Commercial Services (ECS).
