ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Wednesday requested the Supreme Court to take judicial notice of the derogatory campaign ‘orchestrated and choreographed’ by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar against the Supreme Court and the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
Imran in his application alleged that the said derogatory and contemptuous campaign was being executed by the cabinet members as well as the spokespersons of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
He stated that the campaign was to obstruct the administration of justice as well as hamper, impede and malign the investigation, which is being carried out in pursuant to the April 20 judgement of the top court.
“It has been noticed with the utmost concern that the respondent No 1 (Nawaz Sharif), by using his position and clout, has started mala fide and malicious campaign against the judiciary and the JIT with criminal intention to hamper and impede the process of the investigation proceedings,” he stated.
