ISLAMABAD: The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan has failed to produce any documents in the Supreme Court to support the allegations he had put forth against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Talking to the media in the capital on Thursday, Marriyum said that PTI’s stance in the Supreme Court and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) contradicts each other.
She elaborated on this by saying that in its petition filed in the ECP, PTI had said that Mariyam Nawaz was dependent on her spouse, Captain Safdar, and had sought his disqualification. On the other hand, she said, the PTI’s stance in the Supreme Court is that Mariyam Nawaz is a dependent of Nawaz Sharif and hence the prime minister should be disqualified.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said that Imran Khan wanted to become prime minister by making false allegations against the ruling government.
