Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will inaugurate development work of F Block of the Journalist Housing Society and in this regard, Rs 50 million grant will also be allocated.
Lahore Press Club Secretary General Babar Dogar said tjis during a briefing to F Block allotment holders at the press club on Friday. The gathering , arranged by F Block Core Committee head Sher Afzal Butt, was informed that the Lahore Press Club Housing Foundation has already collected Rs30 million in instalments and a sufficient amount was available with the foundation to launch the development work. Recently, a delegation under Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari met the chief minister where the matter of F block development was discussed, Chief Minister’s spokesman Arshad Mashwani said.
Dogar said the Lahore deputy commissioner would get started work on the construction of the main gate of the block and in this regard, illegally constructed houses along the wall would be demolished. F Block members have been waiting for the development work since 2007 and during this period several members have died while developing charges have escalated from Rs100 million to Rs300 million. Sher Afzal Butt said he hoped the chief minister would open development work in the month of July.
