Pakistan Army troops shot down an Indian spy drone close to the Line of Control (LoC), the military’s media wing said on Friday.
“#PakistanArmy troops shot down an Indian spying #quadcopter in Khanjar Sector along LOC. The quadcopter had intruded 500 meters on Pakistan’s side of the #LOC. This is 8th Indian Quadcopter shot down by Pakistan Army troops this year,” the DG ISPR said in a tweet.
In a similar incident last month, Pakistan Army troops had shot down an Indian spy drone close to the LoC in in Rakhchikri sector. “The quadcopter had intruded 650 metres on Pakistan’s side of the #LoC,” the ISPR had said a that time.
In April also, an Indian quadcopter was shot down by Pakistani troops after it violated Pakistan’s airspace in Sankh district.
According to military sources, Indian military uses quadcopters for aerial photography of Pakistani posts along the LoC as part of its intelligence-gathering operations and target selection before carrying out cross-LoC shelling.
