Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has suggested that judiciary should not be dragged into political matters, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan should exercise his discretionary powers and allow Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for treatment. In a statement issued here on Saturday, Shujaat said in the political cases, decisions are used as examples which result in creation of problems. “Other people also put burden on the courts by using such cases as a basis,” he said, adding that there is a difference between the verdicts of the courts and executive decisions of the government because executive measures are taken under the discretionary powers in extraordinary circumstances and those do not become judicial examples. The PML-Q president said there is no allegation of being anti-state against Nawaz Sharif. “There are only financial misappropriations charges against him … in such cases the judiciary should not be put to test, since it can attract far-reaching consequences,” he added.
