Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton visited Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC), Lahoreto meet young cancer patients, just as Princes Diana, the late mother of Prince William hadalso done during her historic visit to Pakistan in 1996.
The royal couple was greeted warmly upon their arrival by Hospital management. They were briefed about the latest state-of-the-art facilities at the campus by Dr. Faisal Sultan, Chief Executive Officer, SKMCH&RC and Dr. Aasim Yusuf, Chief Medical Officer. During their visit, Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton interacted with young cancer patients and some of their families. They admired the cutting edge facilities being provided to the underprivileged cancer patients.
It is pertinent to mention that William’s late mother, Diana, visited Pakistan twice: in 1996 and 1997 to help raise awareness and funds for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and research Centre.
