The governing bodies meeting of Punjab and Southern Punjab chapters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was held at Punjab Secretariat under the chair of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in which PTI Punjab President Ijaz Ch and members of governing bodies were present.
The meeting strongly condemned the unconstitutional and illegal step of changing the special status of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) and Indian cruelties against Kashmiris in the occupied territory. The participants expressed their complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people. They also expressed gratitude for effectively projecting the stance of Pakistan by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing the meeting, Usman Buzdar said that Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir. I have announced to name one road in every district and one park in every division after Kashmir and the Commissioners and DCs have issued instructions to early identify roads and parks. He said that people have been served with dedication during one year time adding that successive governments compounded the problems and ignored solution of public problems during the last 30 years. The dream of Prime Minister Imran Khan to bring change will be given practical shape, he added.
He said that record legislation has been made by the Punjab government during the last one year and new examples of austerity and prudential prudence have been set. I am happy to meet with the provincial office-bearers of the party and consultations will be continued. He said that party structure will be further strengthened and genuine demands of party workers and office-bearers will be fulfilled. I don’t have any other agenda except public service, he added. The chief minister said that every possible step will be taken in the best interest of the country and the province and party workers will be given respect and honour. The doors of CM Office are open to you, he added.
He said that Punjab government has allocated 35 percent funds for southern Punjab and added that these funds would not be utilized for any other district or purpose. He said the government would take benefit of diverse experience and expertise of PTI office-bearers and their recommendations would be implemented upon. We will move shoulder to shoulder in the journey of public service, he said. The period of showing sham jugglery of the past is over now work is done with dedication. He said that a project is being started for improving the sewerage system of Lahore with an amount of Rs.19 billion. The past government spent only Rs. 3 billion on sewerage system during the last ten years. He said that reforms have been introduced for the development of different sectors including health, education, agriculture and industry. He said that water storage projects were ignored in the past but the incumbent government is constructing small dams in DG Khan, Photohar region and Rajanpur.
Ijaz Ch thanked the chief minister and said that party is being organized at the grassroots adding that provincial-level convention will be soon convened. We are with you in this journey of public service. An organized party will boost the government and the relations between the party and the government will be made further strengthened, he added. Senior vice president Punjab Ijaz Minhas, vice president Ch Ishfaq, Shabir Sial, general secretary Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui, additional general secretary Nadeem Qadir Bhindar, Muhammad Arif Abbasi, engineer Attaullah Khan Shadikhel, Rana Nadeem, Mumtaz Kahlon, Shakeel Ahmed Khan Niazi, Hafiz Ubaid Ullah, secretary information Usman Saeed Basra, president south Punjab Noor Khan Bhabha, Ayesha Nazir Jutt, Moin Uddin Qureshi, Farzand Gohar, Ali Raza Dareshk, Sikandar Badhaira, Musadaq Shah, Naeem Warriach and Saif Khosa attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Buzdar presided over an important meeting on Tuesday in which the performance and progress made on different programmes and future roadmap of Punjab Information Technology Board (PTIB) were reviewed in detail. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the promotion of information and communication technologies in different sectors will bring ease in the lives of the citizens, adding that ICT will be dexterously utilised to develop the outdated system on modern lines. The province of Punjab will be developed as an IT hub and every possible effort will be made to develop the IT sector on modern lines, he added.
He opined that the adoption of e-governance and e-service delivery is the need of the hour as both will facilitate the people. He directed that every public complaint lodged through the Chief Minister’s Complaint Centre (0800-02345) should be timely disposed of.
The meeting decided to construct another IT park adjacent to Arfa Software Technology Park and planned to lay the foundation stone by the end of this year. It was further decided to introduce a computerised application for the promotion of tourism. This application will contain all the necessary information and other details about tourist-spots in the province.
Usman Buzdar said that as much as 31 services are being provided to the people at 10 khidmat centres; and keeping in view their utility, it has been decided to establish new khidmat centres in 27 districts. He expressed the satisfaction that the total number of services offered at khidmat centres has, now, reached to 43. Meanwhile, regional tech incubation centres will be established in nine divisions under Punjab Innovate Program, he said.
