Federal Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s younger brother Liaquat Khattak took oath as a provincial minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman administered oath to Liaquat Khattak. Pervaiz Khattak, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani and other members of the provincial assembly attended the ceremony. Liaquat Khattak, who is the former district nazim of Nowshera, was elected to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in a by-election in October 2018. He won the PK-64 Nowshera seat vacated by his brother. Pervaiz Khattak retained his National Assembly seat to become the defence minister in the federal cabinet.
