Singer and actor Ali Zafar began crying while talking to the anchor of a local television channel in context to the sexual harassment allegations, levelled on him by his colleague Meesha Shafi.
A sobbing Ali Zafar said that when the court’s verdict came in his favour, Meesha Shafi began a social media outburst campaign against him. He lamented that several big companies who have hired the singer were tagged in the posts, along with the United Nations’ agencies, so that his career can be ended.
Zafar said he was clueless as to why Shafi had levelled these accusations on him. He added that she was a good friend of his family and attended events with them. Talking about the event, of which Shafi had mentioned regarding the harassment, Zafar said that there were two other women also present and Shafi also sent him a message after the event, which he showed to the court as well. Zafar said his innocence has been proved by the court as well. Zafar, in a message, extended an olive branch to the singer, saying that whatever is happening is not good for the society. Wiping away his tears, he said that the money he’ll receive from the defamation suit is for charity and urged Shafi to end this now.
