The government has decided to increase electricity prices by Rs2 per unit. The hike in the prices will put additional burden of Rs200 billion on consumers. The capacity payment of Rs200 billion will be charged from the customers.
The prices will be increased after getting approval from National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
On the other hand, the people rejected the decision taken by government to increase the electricity prices and pronounced that it is not possible for them to pay such high bills.
