Sindh Assembly issued another production order, on Thursday, for Speaker, Agha Siraj Durrani, to chair the meeting of its business advisory committee, on Friday at 11 am. The new order was issued to replace the last one, which expired when the assembly session was adjourned till March 21. According to information available, the committee meeting would be attended by representatives of all parliamentary parties.
Earlier, the accountability watchdog prosecutor had complained before the court during the hearing of assets beyond means case on March 11 that the bureau hardly had two days to carry out its investigation against the speaker because he was called for the Sindh Assembly sessions every day. “Durrani spends little time in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody,” he maintained while requesting the court to grant an extension in his physical remand for the completion of the bureau’s investigation. The prosecutor also pointed out that the ongoing investigation had uncovered additional properties owned by the accused.
