Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday called a special session of the federal cabinet to approve the upcoming supplementary finance bill scheduled to be presented on Wednesday (today).
The federal cabinet will be meeting at 2 pm at the Parliament House and is likely to accord final approval to the ‘mini-budget’.
Minister for Finance Asad Umar is going to unveil the supplementary finance bill and macroeconomic framework before the parliament on Wednesday (today).
Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said it would be an important day as Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government will present its economic agenda before the masses.
In a tweet, the minister said during the first five months the incumbent government overcame balance of payment issues and the economic crisis created by deadly economic policies of the previous government. “Now the PTI government will give its own economic agenda,” he said, adding that 2019 will be the year of achieving real targets set by the PTI government.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq said Imran Khan will also attend the National Assembly session on Wednesday.
The prime minister has also summoned an important consultative meeting of the party’s parliamentary committee at 11am on Wednesday. The meeting will be briefed by Finance Minister Asad Umar about the upcoming mini-budget. The party has directed all relevant members to ensure their presence at the key meeting.
