QUETTA: Nawabzada Siraj Raisani’s brother on Saturday called for the constitution of ‘truth commission’ to investigate into the deadly blast that took Mastung by overwhelming sorrow, leaving 128 people martyred and 150 injured. It was the second deadliest attack after Army Public school attack Peshawar in 2014.
Siraj Raisani, who was running for office from PP-35 Mastung also lost his life in the blast.
Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, his brother, while mourning the loss of innocent lives condemned the policymakers of the country for failing to protect its citizens against terrorism.
Earlier, while addressing the press, Lashkari Raisani demanded that a ‘truth commission’ be created to look into the policies of the state, made by the governments since the era of General Zia-ul-Haq.
“Policy makers are responsible for the blood of innocent. These attacks are a consequence of wrong policies. If they would have shared our grief, they would have reversed their policies. But they didn’t. We are still burying our dead. I demand a truth commission, not a reconciliation commission, but a truth commission to investigate the matter”, the grieving brother lamented.
It came hours after four people were killed and 39 injured in a bomb blast targetting a JUI-F convoy in Bannu on Friday. On Tuesday, a bomb targeted a rally by the Awami National Party (ANP) in Peshawar, martyring local ANP leader Haroon Bilour along with 21 others.
Siraj’s funeral prayers are scheduled in Quetta today.
