MUZAFFARGARH: Assistant Commissioner Dr SaifUllah Bhatti on Saturday arrested 11 middlemen for purchasing sugarcane from farmers at low prices.
According to reports, the official, working on a tip, raided Shahjamal area and arrested eight middlemen comprising Ghulam Mustafa, Saif Ullah, Zahid Hafiz, Bashir Khan, Amjad, Shaukt, Shahid and Waseem. Cases were registered against them.
Meanwhile, in another raid at Chowk Qureshi area, the assistant commissioner arrested three other middlemen comprising Muhammad Sajid, Muhammad Javed and Mukhtiar Hussain for the same offence. Cases were also registered against them. Further investigation was underway. APP
