ISLAMABAD: Salman Haider, the human rights activist and professor at Fatima Jinnah University, has gone missing according to family members.
His brother Zeeshan said that Haider had been meeting friends in Bani Gala last night but had informed his wife that he would be home by 8 pm. He added that when Haider did not appear by 10 she tried contacting him but he did not pick up.
She later received a text message from his phone saying that he was going for some work and asking her to get his car picked up from Koral Chowk. His wife called up the police who found his car at the location however he himself could not be located.
An missing persons report was filed at the relevant police station and an investigation into his disappearance was launched. His brother added that the car had been examined by forensics who had also obtained CCTV footage. However, no update on his situation was forthcoming at the moment.
