HYDERABAD: Chief Administrator, Sindh Auqaf Department has reverted as many as 18 employees from grade seven and above to grade 1 as Khadim, forcing them to beg at the different shrines.
Those reverted include Abdul Shakoor Shar of grade 16 (appointed in 1988), Naseem Khan and Ahmed Khan Faridi both of grade 14 (appointed in1986), five employees of grade 9: Abdul Aziz, Ahmed Ali,Gulzar Memon,Rafiq Ahmed Shah and Mehtab Khan ( in service from 24 to 28 years) and 10 employees, mostly who were working as clerks in grade seven, also reverted to grade 1. Most of the reverted employees have appealed to higher authorities against their demotion at a time when they are on threshold of retirement.
The concerned Section Officer (Appeals) of the department, Akhtar Jeelani has sought comments from secretary Auqaf on their applications, who has forwarded the same to Chief Administrator, Auqaf Naseemul Ghani Sahto. But Chief Administrator has been holding the application since last March.
This scribe has received a copy of the application submitted by 18 reverted employees of Auqaf and have sent those to the Chief Minister, Chief secretary, Chairman NAB, Secretary Auqaf, Chairman Anti-corruption alleging that the present Chief Administrator Auqaf was demanding Rs. 200,000 from each of the applicant to restore them in their previous grade. But no action has been taken by the concerned authorities in this regard.
