LAHORE: The team of Ajoka theatre returned Pakistan after performing its masterpiece “Bullah” at city of Helsingor, Denmark. Amongst the audience were Danish ambassador to Pakistan, Ole Thonke and Pakistani ambassador to Denmark, Mansoor Junejo.
Conversing with Daily Times, Ajoka spokesman Qasim Ali relayed details about the team’s weeklong visit to Denmark upon the invitation of Danish Culture and development organization (CKU).
Ajoka musicians graced the World Culture Centre in Copenhagen with qawwali and sufi music, and bade adieu with the final performance of “damadam mast qalandar”.
The Danish ambassador fervently commended the play, and pointed out that the play, albeit composed three centuries ago, conveys a very culturally relevant message.
All in all, the performances were keenly received by a predominantly Danish audience as well as the native Pakistanis living there.
