The country registered a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus confirmed cases and fatalities with the ease of lockdown.
Majority of people, especially those who were out to do the Eid shopping, had least regard for and adherence to the safety protocols set by the federal and provincial governments. The shopkeepers and the buyers were equally responsible for flouting the SOPs.
Notably, 11,869 ppl in Punjab have been infected with #Covid_19 till date. 301 new cases of #coronavirus have been detected in last 24 hrs while 4,568 tests have been conducted. 14 more lives have been lost bringing the total fatalities to 211.
Schools will stay shut until mid-July and a decision on reopening intercity transport would be made at a later, unspecified, date.
