Labourers working on daily wages staged a huge protest outside the Bhutto House late Friday night against ignoring them in ration distribution by the Naundero Municipal Committee chairman and councillors.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is currently staying inside the house since Wednesday. They held the protest and chanted slogans for acceptance of their just demands. While complaining before media, residents of different localities, including Ali Hyder Junejo, Asadullah Soomro, Irshad Channo, Rashid Channo, Aslam Arbani, Imtiaz Shaikh and Rustom Mirani, alleged that due to constant lockdown their efforts of earning livelihood daily had gone down the drain, as police chased them when they come out of the homes for work.
They said that our little children and other family members are facing starvation now because we are not landlords but earn our daily wages on daily basis and bring ration to our residences.
They said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and MPA Faryal Talpur sent ration containing food items for poor and poverty-stricken people of Naundero, but the municipal chairman and councillors distributed entire material among their relatives and on favouritism basis, ignoring those daily wagers who are facing hunger because of closure of entire trade. They said that when they return to their homes empty handed and see our family members and little children our heart is burning. They said government should advise us where we should go in this hard time.
They said finding no other way out, they have come to complain to the PPP chairman and inform him about their sufferings, but the cops here too were neither allowing them to meet him nor bringing the community’s issues to his notice. They demanded of their leader to take notice of hardships faced by them during lockdown situation to control spread of coronavirus, inquire from his party leaders and ensure supply of ration to us during these hard days.
Meanwhile, residents of Bilawal Colony, Naundero, also held protest demo on Friday and demanded supply of ration announced by the government. Muhammad Hayat Jeho, Saifal Channo, Hero Mal Oad, Basit Korejo, Ghulam Nabi Bhutto, Siddique Bhutto and others participated. They alleged that our colony is named after the name of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari but we don’t have drainage system as yet and all the waste water of the colony is drained out on main road leading to Government Boys Degree College which is hazardous for us and also create lot of issues for the students .
