The police on Friday chalked out a security plan for Eidul Azha, according to which more than 2254 police personnel would be deployed for the security at prayer congregations at 655 mosques, Imambargahs and 61 open places.
According to details, security officers while briefed the CPO Rawalpindi Muhammad Faisal Rana in regards to the security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha, saying that foolproof security arrangements are made in Rawalpindi during the Eid days, a proper security plan has been devised.
According to the security plan, eid prayer congregations will be held at 655 mosques, Imam Bargahs, and 61 open places and as per the security plan, 14 gazetted police officers, 29 Inspectors, 109 sub-inspectors, 189 ASIs, 68 head constables, and 1845 constables will be deployed for security duties.
All types of leaves for police officers have been canceled for Eidul Azha. On this occasion, the CPO while issuing directions said that Rawalpindi Police should work hard and with devotion to ensure providing the community a peaceful environment for the community on Eid. “We have to sacrifice our happiness for the sake of providing the community the happiness and calm environment. It’s our responsibility that must be fulfilled under any situation”, he added. The CPO maintained that besides that we must also ensure no minor or major law-breaking occurs. In this regard, no banned outfits should be allowed being involved in any activities on Eid, including the collection of animals hides as these elements become more active on such occasions. He said that during Eid days tourists visit Murree in large numbers thus the police has made extraordinary security arrangements, the additional force has been deputed in Murree for that. Apt arrangements are placed for tourists’ guidance and ensuring smooth flow of traffic. Before Eidul Adha, there will be major fag marches from Police in Rawalpindi to further enhance and strengthen the public’s sense of security, he said.
