Police on Wednesday registered a case against 55 Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers who protested in Mandi Bahauddin’s Gojra area against the arrest of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. Police have filed the case against 40 unidentified and 15 nominated suspects. “The protesters had blocked the mini motorway along with Sargodha Road during their protests. They burnt tyres and caused suspension of traffic,” police said. Police said the protesters tried to instigate violence. DPO Nasir Sial said that one PPP worker had been arrested, while raids were being carried out to arrest the rest. On Tuesday, similar protests had also been held across the country, especially in Sindh.
