Advisor to Sindh CM for Information, Law and Anticorruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday said that the federal government was wilfully ignoring the interests of Sindh.
Talking to reporters, he criticised the claims made by Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim.
“I just want to ask Firdous Shamim what happened to the Karachi package announced by Imran Khan? Shifting Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) headquarters to Islamabad is a clear proof of [federal government’s] enmity with Karachi,” he said.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that PTI had caused a great loss to Karachi in last 10 months. “This is unprecedented in the history of Karachi, which is the financial hub of country,” he said.
“Imran Khan has frequently visited Karachi over the years for raising funds for Shaukat Khanum Hospital and for his party, but he has done nothing for development of this megacity. What has been given to Karachi in the past 10 ten months,” the provincial advisor asked.
He said that Firdous Shamim had himself admitted that Imran Khan was not happy with him.
“Not only others, but his own party members also make fun of Firdous Shamim’s actions,” he said.
“Instead of fulfilling his promises, Niazi has snatched three important hospitals. Taking over control of three hospitals. This another clear proof of their enmity against Karachi,” the provincial advisor added.
He said that Firdous Shamim possessed very “weak nerves” and not fit for holding the position of opposition leader. “When no expenditures are made on any scheme, then how can one find corruption in such schemes? Firdos Shamim should consult with someone before making such illogical claims,” he said.
He offered the service of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers to Firdos Shamim. “They are well-trained and familiar with the democratic norms and democratic institutions. There is grave scarcity of such persons in party of Firdos Shamim,” he said.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that Firdos Shamim had become a joke because of his ridiculous claims.
