Police on Saturday arrested four men, including three cops, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl. A case has also been registered against the accused with Rawat Police under sections 376A/376B and 382 of Pakistan Penal Court (PPC) on the complaint of the victim, a resident of a girls’ hostel.
According to police sources, the victim appeared before Rawat Police and lodged a complaint against the accused. “She said that she had gone to Bahria Town, Phase 8 with a male friend on the night of May 15. They were sitting in their car near Statue of Liberty, when a white car stopped near them. Four people stepped out of the car and abducted her on gunpoint. They took the girl in their car and drove away. They later stopped alongside the GT Road and took turns raping her. They also snatched Rs 30,000 and a gold ring from her,” sources said.
“Later on, they dropped her off near her hostel at 4am and fled from the scene. The victim said that one of the rapists also forced her to save his cell phone number in her phone, telling her that he would keep in touch with her in future as well,” sources said.
A rape and robbery case was then registered against and the accused.
When contacted, Saddar Circle DSP Farhan Aslam said that police had arrested the accused after filing a rape case. “Police has presented the accused before a court and obtained their physical remand for further investigation,” he said.
He said DNA tests were also being carried out. “The victim and the accused were taken to the DHQ Hospital for medico legal report (MLR). We are investigating the case,” he said. The accused policemen have been suspended by the CPO. A high-level departmental inquiry has also been launched against them.
