The death toll in the May 13 Quetta blast climbed to five after another wounded policeman succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. The deceased police official was identified as Malik Abid, who was under medical treatment in Civil Hospital. Earlier on the night of May 13, an explosion had ripped through a market in Satellite Town area of Quetta, killing four policemen. Abid had been critically injured in the attack. On May 11, three terrorists were killed when they attacked the Pearl Continental Hotel in Gwadar. On May 8, five policemen were martyred in what officials described as a suicide bombing targeting an Elite Force van detailed to the security of the Data Darbar shrine in Lahore. On the same day, three people, including a tribal leader named Wali Khan Achakzai, were killed in a blast in Qilla Abdullah.
