Former National Assembly speaker and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday rejected reports of Shehbaz Sharif not returning to Pakistan, and said he would return to the country from London. Talking to a private news channel, Sadiq said, “Shehbaz Sharif will return to Pakistan, and if the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has an issue with the new chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) then Shehbaz will continue as chairman.” Responding to a question regarding a deal with the prime minister, Sadiq said no one was talking to Imran Khan about a deal. “Who is telling him [Imran Khan] to come up with a deal? Nobody asked him for a deal,” he said, and added that the premier should clearly say who had approached him for a deal. On the subject of prime minister’s statement in Iran, Sadiq said, “Was the prime minister’s statement given in Iran not a charge sheet against Pakistan? Article 6 should be invoked for this statement and his interview in the US newspaper.” He also said that if the departments concerned did not raise a question over the prime minister’s statement, it meant that it was given on their advice.
