ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Tuesday leveled allegations against the government of issuing death threats. He even accused the NAB of sending him notices just to punish him for demanding action against terrorists.
While responding to Mr Bhutto-Zardari’s press session in the Sindh Assembly building, Mr Rashid tweeted: “Bilawal should play carefully in politics otherwise he may be eliminated.”
Bilawal wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that he is being labelled ‘anti-State’ and has received death threats from ministers for asking the government to sack the three who are ‘associated with banned outfits’.
The government has responded to my demand to sack ministers associated with banned outfits by declaring me anti-state, issueing death threats & NAB notices. None of this deters us from our principle stand; form joint NSC parliamentary committee & act against banned outfits.

Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, daughter of former president Asif Ali Zardari, wrote in a tweet on Sunday,“From delivering hate speeches in the past, the federal minister is now hurling a direct death threat at Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. Though threats of extremist right wingers to Mr Bhutto are not new, for a cabinet member giving an open death threat to someone whose entire family was killed, is disgusting”.
PPP’s central information secretary DrNafisa Shah also came forward to defend her leader, she said: “The party would not ignore Sheikh Rashid’s threat to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. Mr Rashid has been a facilitator of terrorist organisations in the past and that is why his statements cannot be ignored as mere mockery. Our struggle and patience should not be seen as a weakness”.
Dr Shah further added“The concocted case of money laundering against MrZardari has been transferred to Rawalpindi and now a threat by Mr Rashid to Mr Bhutto-Zardari is all indicating that there are links between all of them. Sheikh Rashid is a spokesman for several quarters, including terrorists, and that is why the PPP is taking his threat very seriously. The nation will not tolerate such criminal acts”.
While referring to “anti-PPP steps” taken by the government, she issued a statement saying her pary workers would do everything to ensure the safety of their leadership. She criticized the judiciary fordelaying justice in a case, filed by MrZardari ,regarding the judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and for releasing the killers of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Another statement was issued by PPP’s Punjab secretary general Chaudhry Manzoor,in which he said, “The party would consult its legal experts to register a case against Mr Rashid for hurling the “death threat” at Mr Bhutto-Zardari.
“We are taking Mr Rashid’s threat very seriously because this kind of threat was earlier given to Benazir Bhutto by military dictator Gen Musharraf,” he addedMr Rashid’s threat cannot be ignored because of his “links with banned organisations”.
“If Prime Minister Imran Khan is not supportive of this threat then he should immediately sack this toxic-tongued member of his cabinet,” he further addedthe failure of the government to act against Mr Rashid would be perceived as collusion.
Chaudhry Manzoor said the PPP leadership would be requested to call a central executive committee meeting on this issue.
NAB Notice
According to sources Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will appear before National Accountability bureau (NAB) on 20th March.
However Bilawal does not intend to appear alone before the NAB he has planned on bringing other members of his party in addition to his lawyers for this meeting, the sources revealed.
Party workers from all across the nation have been asked to show solidarity with the leader and gather in Islamabad while the party heads of PPP are expected to reach on the morning of March 20.
According to reports Bilawal and his father, the former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari have been summoned by the NAB on the 20th of March.
