ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday will announce its verdict on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Iman Khan’s bail plea in Pakistan Television (PTV) and Parliament attack cases.
The cases regarding the attacks on PTV and Parliament buildings will be heard by ATC Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi.
PTI leaders are also accused of attacking the then Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Asmatullah Junejo. The SSP attack case will be heard by ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand.
Imran Khan and PTI leader Asad Umar will be appearing before the court. Previously, the ATC had reserved its judgment on the bail pleas filed by PTI leaders.
On the last hearing, on April 2, Khan had filed an exemption plea from case proceedings due to some engagements. The court had granted exemption to Khan from court appearance during the case proceedings.
Khan and other PTI leaders are accused of leading attacks on the Parliament, PTV and SSP Junejo during 2014 protests against the government. The leaders are accused of violating loud speakers act and for clashes with the police personnel.
