ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Faisal Thursday said India was supporting terrorism in Pakistan and their spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s custody with Pakistan was a proof of who had been carrying out terrorist activities.
“Whole world knows who the terrorists are and who their head is. Jadhav is a proof of state terrorism being carried out by India in Pakistan,” he told a weekly news briefing here at the Foreign Office. “India’s jingoism aside, Pakistan knows how to defend itself,” he added. The spokesperson maintained that the threatening statements emanating from the top Indian leadership against Pakistan should be a matter of concern for the international community. He said the international community should also take notice of the ongoing Indian atrocities in Held Kashmir.
He rejected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim regarding ‘surgical strikes’ across the Line of Control, calling it false and baseless. He said Pakistan had openly condemned the claims of surgical strikes and that India tried to inform Pakistan before launching the alleged strikes in September 2016. Repetition could not change false claims into truth, he added.
The spokesperson said that Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif would pay a two day visit to Beijing from Monday to attend the meeting of council of foreign ministers of the SCO. The meeting would discuss regional peace and stability besides ways and means to further promote cooperation at different levels.
Responding to a question about the US decision to restrict movements of Pakistani diplomats, the spokesperson said both the sides were engaged and hoped the matter would be resolved.
He said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was leading the Pakistan delegation to the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM-2018) in London from April 18-20. The participation in CHOGM-2018 would provide an opportunity to highlight the advances made by Pakistan, including its transition to a modern and dynamic emerging market, which was an attractive destination for business, investment and trade.
