LAHORE: Shahbaz Taseer and Maheen Taseer were blessed with a baby girl on Sunday.
In a heartwarming Tweet, father to the newborn wrote, “Serena Amy Taseer, born January 8, 2017. Mother and baby are in good health. I on the other hand am completely exhausted.”
Shahbaz Taseer, who escaped from a Taliban jail after almost five years in captivity, has become a symbol of hope and faith in the country.
Serena’s mother also didn’t hold back in expressing her joy on the occasion. She Tweeted, “Thank you for your prayers! Shahbaz Taseer and I are proud parents to our beautiful baby girl, Serena Taseer. Our miracle baby MashAllah.”
The first one to congratulate the couple was actress Mawra Hocane. Her Tweet to Shahbaz showed that she was as excited as the parents, saying, “Oh my My!! Shahbaz Taseer and Maheen Taseer Congratulations!!!!!! Lots of love for baby Serena & you two!! Deliriously happy for the family!” Shahbaz responded in the cutest way possible, “Thank you! Baby Serena is absolutely edible.”
Having lived amongst some of the most horrific people of our time, Shahbaz Taseer considers coming out the same person he was before, as a victory for himself. The birth of Shahbaz’s daughter comes as a befitting gift by the Almighty for his patience, perseverance and struggle. It is also a time for the entire Taseer family to celebrate and be thankful.
PPP Senator Sherry Rehman also took to social media to express her happiness on the occasion, Tweeting, “Congratulations to you all. Belt up Shahbaz Taseer the diaper challenge leaves many good men floored.”
