Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah has directed all the DCs of the division to boost up measures to avoid spread of the dengue virus in their respective districts.
While addressing a video conference, he asked the health department to coordinate with district administrations and start anti-dengue awareness campaign to educate the citizens about anti dengue preventive measures. He also asked hospitals to allocate separate wards for the dengue patients as per directives of the Punjab government.
Commissioner directed the health officers to start an anti-dengue awareness drive in the city areas and ensure door-to-door checking of dengue larvae and also upload the correct data on dash boards daily basis, district officers should also inspect the anti-dengue efforts made by their subordinates so that anti dengue campaign could be got fruitful.
Meanwhile, the District Health Authority in a crackdown against quackery sealed three clinics for involvement in illegal practice. DDHO Nowshera Virkan conducted raids at quacks clinics in different areas of the tehsil and sealed clinics including Sughra Hospital, Alshafa Hospital and Tayyaba Hospital for having no NOC. Listening to the raids information, staff of many other illegal clinics succeeded to escape by locking their clinics.
