A delegation of industrialists and representatives of traders’ community under the leadership of APTMA head Gohar Ijaz called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
A discussion with regard to resolving the problems of industrialists and traders took place during the meeting. The CM assured to resolve their problems at the earliest and added that the Punjab government will create more ease and comforts for the industrialists and traders community.
Usman Buzdar maintained that common man will get livelihood with the running of business. CM stated that common man is facing maximum difficulties owing to coronavirus pandemic and our aim is to alleviate difficulties of common man. He disclosed that SoPs have been finalized in order to grant permission for doing business in a phased manner in Punjab. He warned that industry will be closed in case of violating the SoPs. He stated that besides opening up wood sector and building, other industry relating to construction will also be allowed to open up and recommendations after being prepared have also been submitted to the federal government. Usman Buzdar highlighted that with the consultation of federal government feeding industry connected with export sector will also be opened.
The CM underscored that we are granting permission to power looms for doing working and recommendations for such factories which have their labour colonies have also been submitted. We have also proposed opening iron and steel industry along with home appliances industry while markets and bazaars will be opened in phases, he added. CM apprised that a committee has been constituted under the headship of Provincial Industries Minister to resolve the problems of industrialists and traders community.
APTMA head Gohar Ijaz commended CM Usman Buzdar for delivering his duties on the front line in order to combat corona pandemic and has also set a new example of rendering public service. He further complimented that CM has proved himself Wasim Akram Plus in real sense. He further acknowledged the steps taken by CM for resolving the problems of industrialists and traders community. Those meeting with CM Usman Buzdar including President LCCI Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Adeel Bashir, Ahmad Zafar, Pervaiz Lala, Akbar Sheikh, SM Nabeel and others. Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hashim Jawan Bakht, Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan, Vice chairman LDA Sheikh Imran, Secretary Information and concerned officials also attended the meeting.
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to provide benefits to the common man owing to decrease in petroleum prices. He further directed that benefits of recent decrease in petroleum prices be provided to the masses at every cost.
Usman Buzdar asserted that comprehensive planning should be undertaken in a proactive manner along with its implementation to provide direct benefit to the people of the province as a result of significant decrease in petroleum prices. He further underscored that steps should also be taken to lower the prices of essential items in proportion to decrease in petroleum prices. He emphasized that masses should be provided relief by decreasing the prices of other items in proportion to decrease in petroleum prices and concerned departments should work in a solid and comprehensive manner in order to provide relief to the masses.
He warned that artificial hike in the prices of vegetables, fruits and pulses will not be tolerated at any cost. CM directed that prices and quality of essential items should be regularly checked and monitored. He stressed that district price control committee should undertake effective measures in order to bring stability in the prices of essential edibles and the selling of essential items should be ensured according to the rate list.
The CM warned that no negligence will be tolerated on the implementation of price control mechanism. He maintained that every step of PTI government is taken for the provision of maximum relief to the masses and further emphasized that significant decrease in petroleum prices is a gift for the masses on behalf of PTI government. He appreciated that PTI government by making significant decrease in petroleum prices has also won the hearts of masses. CM further vowed that we will not allow any hurdle to come across in the journey of making progress under the vibrant leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. CM also vowed that we will take all possible steps to provide maximum relief to the common man.
Meanwhile, Buzdar visited the Head Office of PDMA and reviewed the control room monitoring system. He observed condition of different cities on dash board live. CM was given briefing on locust, corona situation, Insaaf Imdad Programme and flood at PDMA central control room. SMBR in a briefing apprised that possible arrival of locust from Balochistan and other provinces is being continuously monitored.
A large number of locusts are being seen at Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Dera Murad Jamali and Kashmoor. He further intimated that 28 lac acre of land has been cleared from locust. It was also apprised during the briefing that locally manufactured vehicle mounted machine cost ten time less and its performance is also excellent. The CM expressed his keen interest in the vehicle mounted machine being locally prepared. DG PDMA informed that corona situation across the province is being monitored each and every second in every city of the province in the PDMA control room. All departments and districts have been provided more than eight lac protected gowns, more than seven lac N-95 masks and other medical equipment along with providing spray machines, thermal guns, face shields, goggles and other protective equipment. Sub-committee of PDMA consisting of experts have prepared standard decision of personal protection equipment. PDMA also timely provided two billion 27 crore funds to divisional headquarters and districts in order to cope up with coronavirus.
