KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has voiced serious concerns about the worsening conditions in the province, accusing Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of being extorted by terrorists. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Kundi remarked, “During our tenure, there was peace in the province. There is a significant difference between K-P in 2012 and now. Fazlur Rehman says that in the evening, no one can leave their house in Dera Ismail Khan, and we agree that the unrest has increased significantly.” The governor stated that the CM should have immediately visited Bannu following the recent incident. He criticised the spread of fake news on social media regarding the event, which caused unnecessary alarm. “In reality, slogans were raised against the police and the Pakistan Army,” he clarified. Kundi called for action against those who chant anti-army slogans and those who do not respect Pakistan’s constitution and laws. He mentioned that given the current situation in the province, he had previously advised convening an Apex Committee meeting. He concluded by saying, “I am well aware of the powers vested in the governor, and no one can take these away.”
