Malik Farooq, who had contested the last general election as an independent candidate from Gujranwala’s NA-82 constituency, has officially joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The announcement was made after his meeting with PPP City General Secretary Rana Haneef, City Secretary Information Sagheer But, Malik Zulfikar Bhutto, Taimoor Dar, Malik Jilani and other party office-bearers.
Considering PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto as a ray of hope, Malik Muhammad Yaqoob Thaikedar, Iftikhar Hussain Maher, Rashid Anayat Gurya, Javed Iqbal Shekho and many others are joining the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Farooq said that right now Bilawal was the sole leader who had the ability to take Pakistan out of the current crises.
He said that under Bilawal’s leadership, the PPP – after coming into power – would eliminate poverty from the country.
On this occasion, the city secretary information said that PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira would soon visit Gujranwala and hold a procession, during which many other people would announce joining the party.
