The Embassy of Switzerland on Wednesday celebrated the 728th Swiss National Day and over 50 years of Swiss international cooperation in Pakistan at an event in Islamabad. The event showcased the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation’s (SDC’s) work in Pakistan over the past 53 years with a book titled ‘Inspiring Moments: Switzerland in Pakistan over Decades,’ six short films and a photo exhibition. The cooperation between Switzerland and Pakistan dates back to 1966, when Switzerland and Pakistan signed a technical cooperation agreement. In 1975, this was supplemented by an agreement on disaster relief. Since 1977, Pakistan has been a priority country for Swiss international cooperation, with a permanent Cooperation Office in Islamabad.
