Pakistan, on Monday, sent condolences to the victims lost after a Russian passenger plane caught fire while making an emergency landing.
According to a tweet by the official handle of Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal, “The people and Government of Pakistan express their heartfelt condolences at the loss of precious lives and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the tragic emergency landing of the Russian airliner.”
On Sunday, as many as 41 precious lives were lost after a Russian Aeroflot passenger plane caught fire as it made a bumpy emergency landing at a Moscow airport. The Russian investigators have noted that two children were also aboard the fateful flight.
Television footage showed smoke billowing from the burning Sukhoi Superjet 100 on the tarmac at Sheremetyevo airport after a very bumpy landing.
The jet had 73 passengers and five crew members. It was flying from Moscow to the northern Russian city of Murmansk, Russia’s aviation watchdog said.
Russia’s Investigative Committee Spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said in a statement that only 37 had survived out of the 78 people on board; meaning 41 people had lost their lives.
