Meerab sheikh, 6 years, is proving girls passionately create more ways than one. Having dream to be captain of National Women Cricket Team, she substantiated that women are proving they’re not backing down and here to explore every domain.
Healing from Rawalpindi, Meerab was seeing cricket as obsession as she continuing to do practice 4 to five hours daily since last couple of years. Her parents also in support to make her able to fulfill her dreams.
“I will lay foundation of new grounds for all girls who are incisive to come out from the patriarchal barriers while fulfilling their wishes as per their professional choices”, she told Daily Times very confidently.
Meerab father Shoaib Sheikh, who is also her mentor and trainer, said that he wants to see his daughter on the stage where she could earn name and fame for the country while performing internationally in the future.
This six years old kid shared her role models in her ambitious future, saying that former national cricket team captain Waseem Akram is her ideal. Besides training, Meerab also goes to school and seminary to continue her formal education as well.
She recalled that she comes daily in Muslim Grounds of Rawalpindi. “I come here daily and do practice with boys”, she added.
“She is not only good in cricket, she also excellent in curricular activities. It is her passion that everybody in ground endeavors her efforts”, the father shoaib sheikh recalled, adding that from they would never be a hurdle on the way to accomplishment of her dreams.
“We allowed her to do whatsoever she wants while training and practicing in order to prepare herself for buoyant performance as per her passion”, he said optimistically.
