Real Madrid defender Marcelo on Saturday said Cristiano Ronaldo was not the only player the club and fans often remember and that club legends Zinedine Zidane and Raul were also missed.
The European champions dropped a couple of points against Atheltic Bilbao on match-day 4 of the Spanish league. Arch-rivals Barcelona, on the other hand, passed a tough test at Anoeta and beat Real Sociedad to continue their win-streak.
While some people believe Real Madrid missed the lethal finishing of Cristiano at the San Mames – Athletic Bilbao’s stadium – since the visitors could only score once, that too an equaliser from midfielder Isco, Marcelo believes otherwise.

Marcelo said that Ronaldo is not the only ex-Madridista who is missed. Club legends Zinedine Zidane and Raul were also missed, as were all others who had been significant for the club in past.
“I think supporters also often remember Raul, Zidane… Not only Cristiano,” the left-back said when asked whether Real Madrid missed Ronaldo or not.
He admitted that Madrid were not as sharp against and that the draw was disappointed, but added that there is still a lot to play for as it is just the beginning of the season.
