Shah Farman, a senior Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, took oath as the 32nd governor of Khyber Pakthunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday.
Peshawar High Court chief justice Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth administered the oath to the new governor.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Speaker Mushtaq Ghani, as well as former governors, Senators, and MPAs attended the ceremony that started with a rendition of the national anthem. Chief Secretary Kamran Naveed Baloch then read out the appointment order of the new governor. Outgoing governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra had tendered his resignation on August 17.
Governor Shah Farman had resigned from his provincial assembly seat, PK-71, after casting his vote in the presidential election on Tuesday.
