BULAWAYO: Babar Azam is back from injury as Pakistan is playing as a series opener in first ODI against Zimbabwe on Friday, moreover, Asif Ali is making his one-day internal debut with Pakistan.
Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed expects the host to be challenging for its opponent.
Ahmed stated, “The one-day series is important, and it´s not easy to play with Zimbabwe in their home conditions.”
“The matches are also starting very early. It´s probably even colder in Bulawayo too, so it´s not going to be an easy series,” he further remarked.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe coach Lalchand Rajput has challenged Pakistan ‘a real fight’. The coach stated that Pakistan is a strong team but our players are a little bit confident.
This year, Pakistan has enjoyed its unequaled success in Twenty20 and is ranking on the top in formate as they defeat Australia in the tri-series final last weekend.
Pakistani players who are participating in the series include Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (c&wk), Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, and Usman Khan.
Similarly, the opponent Zimbabwe’s team is comprised of Chibhabha, Chari, Hamilton Masakadza (capt), Musakanda, PJ Moor, Murray(wk), Tiripano, Roche, Wellington Masakadza, Chatara, and Muzarabani.
