LAHORE: The Government of Pakistan (GoP) Secretary Finance Arif Ahmed Khan presented certificate of payment of salaries to government employees before the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday.
Last week, Justice Nisar had said that until the secretary finance and controller general of accounts present a certificate as proof that all government employees have been paid salaries, he would not take his own payments.
A three-judge bench headed by CJP Justice Saqib Nisar, while also consisting of Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard the case and summoned the secretary finance to present details over the matter.
Arif Ahmed submitted the requisite certificate as proof that 6,56,000 employees have been paid their salaries. He, however, requested the court to grant a 3-day period for reconfirmation over the matter.
Earlier, the controller general of accounts had also presented a certificate before the Supreme Court.
