GUJRANWALA: Deputy Commissioner Amir Jaan directed the concerned authorities to complete necessary arrangements in order to meet the upcoming monsoon season. Repair work at river embankmentsand Nullahs must be continuously monitored and all measures must be taken to cope with any situation – with no negligence being tolerated.
He was addressing a meeting to review the arrangements in view of possible floods in monsoon season. He asserted that coordination between institutions concerned was of vital importance to meet the challenges, timely provision of machinery and equipment should be ensured in case of any emergency. The Deputy Commissioner said that protective arrangements should be completed throughout the district and immediate evacuation of the population should be ensured in case of any need. He reiterated that there should be proper arrangements for food, medicines and fodder for livestock in the concerned areas.
