LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains on Saturday said that the police’s prime objective was not only maintaining peace but also eliminating criminal elements and protecting the people’s lives and properties.
Addressing the newly promoted policemen at Police Lines near Qila Gujjar Singh, he directed the policemen to maintaining law and order in the city and to perform their duties with dedication and responsibility.
The CCPO said that for the first time in the metropolis about 900 policemen had been promoted to the next rank, adding that these cops should work with an aim to purge the city of crime.
He directed the officials to take action against the criminals, particularly proclaimed offenders, adding that those who perform well would be awarded with cash prizes and commendatory certificates.
The police chief said that the remaining policemen, who await promotion, would soon be promoted. He directed the SP Headquarters to complete the documentation of all retiring officials, so that a farewell ceremony could also be organised for them.
