Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to visit Karachi on Friday where he will announce packages for the rain-hit city.
Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed on Saturday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are all set to work together to resolve three major issues of the metropolitan city Karachi.
The premier said that both governments have decided to immediately start working together for cleaning drains and devise a permanent solution to the solid waste disposal and sewerage problems and ensuring water supply.
Moreover, the Pakistan army continued its flood relief efforts and rescue operations in different parts of Sindh province on Monday.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army personnel removed rainwater from underpasses located at Karachi’s Golimar, Golimar and KPT areas, adding that these underpasses have been reopened for traffic.
However, the dewatering process was continued in various areas inundated with rainwater, read the statement.
The Army personnel were also shifting vehicles trapped in rainwater to safe locations and removing other obstacles from the major thoroughfares in order to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the metropolis.
